Guter Zugang zu Schulen, Krankenhäusern, Geschäften und mit der Nähe zum Meer und vor allem mit Meerblick bietet dieses Gebäude einen außergewöhnlichen Freizeit- und Komfortraum.Das Heiligtum der Senhora da Guia befindet sich in der Pfarrei Belinho und ist das Exlibris dieser Pfarrei.
Es befindet sich auf dem Gipfel eines Berges von ca. 150 Metern. Es besteht aus mehreren Terrassen und der Kapelle Nossa Senhora da Guia, der die Einwohner von Belinho eine große Verehrung entgegenbringen.
Die heutige Kapelle wurde 1974 als Ersatz für die ursprüngliche Kapelle auf Initiative von Pater Manuel José da Costa Leal (1931-2005), der von 1969 bis 2005 Abt von Belinho war, und von Manuel Martins de Abreu (1927-1991), der Verwalter derselben Kapelle und des Heiligtums war, gebaut. Es wurde mit Hilfe der Bevölkerung der Gemeinde gebaut. Er wurde am 19. Mai 1974 gesegnet.
Die Treppe mit ca. 400 Stufen wurde 1988 erbaut und von natürlichen Blumenbeeten in der Gemeinde Belinho angelegt.
Jedes Jahr am zweiten Sonntag im Mai findet in diesem Heiligtum die Erzpriesterwallfahrt der Erzdiözese Esposende statt, an der alle Pfarreien der Gemeinde teilnehmen, die von der Pfarrkirche von Belinho aus gemeinsam die Straße zum Heiligtum entlanggehen, mit ihren eigenen Fahnen-Bannern der Muttergottes und ihren Gemeindemitgliedern. Am Ende werden sie vom Wagen der Nossa Senhora da Guia begleitet. Diese Wallfahrt begann im Jahr 2002.
Am ersten Sonntag im Juni findet in diesem Heiligtum das traditionelle und hundertjährige Mittagessen der Pfarrkatechese von Belinho statt.
