If you are thinking of making your move to Valencia with your family and looking forward to watching the kids assimilate into the Spanish way of life, maybe your parents or in-laws come over and stay with you for a month or two then you can stop reading now because this is not the property for you.. . Located right behind the town hall and just a few minutes’ walk to the Old Town if you go one way, and Russafa if you go the other, this is the ideal apartment for all you singles or maybe even a couple (just don’t go getting any ideas about adding to the family) who crave the cities culture, vibrancy, nightlife, restaurants and bars close to hand.. . Situated on the top floor this apartment is what is known as a “Piso de Portero” or doorman’s apartment. The doorman is long gone in this building, but the apartment still stands and has access to the communal terrace through the living room and through the kitchen. While the terrace isn’t part of the property, you have pretty much exclusive access to it and there is no problem having a BBQ and some furniture out there for you to enjoy. The elevator comes all the way up to your door as well, which isn’t usually the case with these apartments where you generally the elevator stops on the floor below and you walk up the last flight. . . There is a parking space included in the price and even if you aren’t planning on having a car what with Valencia being so pedestrian/bike friendly, you can rent this space out for a pretty penny. Being top floor, the traffic noise below is an afterthought (There is very little traffic inn Valencia city centre these days anyway) and having nobody above you means you can cremate whatever animals you fancy on the grill and nobody will be complaining about the smell / inviting themselves down for dinner.. . El portero ya no está en este edificio, pero el apartamento sigue en pie y tiene acceso a la terraza comunitaria a través de la sala de estar y la cocina. Aunque la terraza no forma parte de la propiedad, tienes acceso prácticamente exclusivo a ella y no hay problema en tener una barbacoa y algunos muebles para que disfrutes. El ascensor también llega hasta tu puerta, lo que no suele ser el caso con estos apartamentos, en los que generalmente el ascensor se detiene en el piso inferior y subes andando el último tramo.. . Hay una plaza de aparcamiento incluida en el precio e incluso si no tienes pensado tener coche, ya que Valencia es una ciudad tan amigable para peatones y ciclistas, puedes alquilar este espacio por un dineral. Al estar en el último piso, el ruido del tráfico de abajo es una ocurrencia posterior (de todos modos, hoy en día hay muy poco tráfico en el centro de la ciudad de Valencia) y, al no haber nadie encima, puedes incinerar a los animales que quieras en la parrilla y nadie se quejará del olor ni se invitará a cenar.. .
