Seller Insight: What is your favourite room in the house and why? In the Winter when it's cold and miserable outside we love to be in the sitting room watching the logs burning in the fire. It's so cosy and comforting. A pot of tea and some buttered crumpets make for perfection. In the Summer it's the kitchen/conservatory. It's such a sociable space with a lovely view over the garden. When weather allows, we move out through the glass kitchen doors onto the patio to eat. Who do you think will be the ideal new owner? The ideal next owner would be retired or a young couple. The village has an amazing social hub and the pub is brilliant. What do you love most and why? The house is so welcoming. The first time we walked through the door we felt like we belonged here. The thatch is amazing. When the rain is hammering down outside you can't hear a thing which makes for a good night's sleep. We always feel very lucky coming home to such a beautiful and historical cottage. It wraps itself around you and feels very safe. Although we're in the centre of the village the garden is private and a real sanctuary. What do you love about the local community? The community is second to none. Our neighbours are totally brilliant and there is something for everyone in the village. e.g. Community shop, allotments, church coffee mornings, children's nursery, junior school, a community minded pub with beautiful floral displays, garden club, craft club, table tennis, Pilates, canal walks, to name but a few. We also have a lovely play park and incredible walking and cycle trails. The pavilion takes part in Open Studio days for art lovers and there are many amazing artists in the village. Christmas time is magical - the church is decorated with greenery and candlelight and looks beautiful, carol singing around the village is accompanied by Santa on his sleigh. This year the village fete is being held on 19th July. An incredible day is planned. How easy is it to commute from here? Bath and Salisbury are both an hour's drive away and the train from Pewsey takes an hour to London Paddington. What made you choose this property over others? We feel this property chose us. From the moment we stepped inside it felt like home. We fell in love with the Pewsey Vale and Wiltshire. It feels rather lost in time and everyone is so friendly and helpful, like the villages we grew up in as children. Une théière et quelques crumpets beurrés font la perfection. En été, c’est la cuisine/serre. C’est un espace très convivial avec une belle vue sur le jardin. Quand le temps le permet, nous sortons par les portes vitrées de la cuisine pour aller manger sur la terrasse. Qui pensez-vous être le nouveau propriétaire idéal ? Le prochain propriétaire idéal serait un retraité ou un jeune couple. Le village a un centre social incroyable et le pub est génial. Qu’aimez-vous le plus et pourquoi ? La maison est si accueillante. La première fois que nous sommes entrés, nous avions l’impression d’appartenir ici. La chaume est incroyable. Quand la pluie batte à verse dehors, on n’entend rien, ce qui fait une bonne nuit de sommeil. Nous nous sentons toujours très chanceux de rentrer chez nous dans un cottage aussi beau et historique. Il vous enveloppe et se sent très sûr. Bien que nous soyons au centre du village, le jardin est privé et un véritable sanctuaire. Qu’aimez-vous dans la communauté locale ? La communauté est sans égale. Nos voisins sont vraiment formidables et il y en a pour tous les goûts du village. Par exemple une boutique communautaire, jardins, cafés d’église, crèche pour enfants, école primaire, pub communautaire avec de magnifiques expositions florales, club de jardinage, club d’artisanat, tennis de table, Pilates, promenades sur le canal, pour n’en citer que quelques-uns. È così accogliente e confortante. Una teiera e qualche crumpet imburrato sono perfetti. In estate c'è la cucina/serra. È uno spazio così conviviale con una splendida vista sul giardino. Quando il tempo lo permette, ci spostiamo attraverso le porte di vetro della cucina sul patio per mangiare. Chi pensi sarà il nuovo proprietario ideale? In de winter, als het koud en ellendig buiten is, vinden we het heerlijk om in de zitkamer te zitten en naar de houtblokken te kijken die in het vuur branden. Het is zo knus en troostend. Een pot thee en wat geboterde crumpets maken perfectie. In de zomer is het de keuken/serre. Het is zo'n sociale ruimte met een prachtig uitzicht over de tuin. Als het weer het toelaat, gaan we via de glazen keukendeuren naar het terras om te eten. Wie denk je dat de ideale nieuwe eigenaar zal zijn? De ideale volgende eigenaar is een gepensioneerd stel of een jong stel. Het dorp heeft een geweldig sociaal centrum en de pub is geweldig. Waar hou je het meest van en waarom? Het huis is zo gastvrij. De eerste keer dat we binnenkwamen, voelden we ons hier thuis. Het riet is geweldig. Als het buiten hard regent hoor je niets, wat zorgt voor een goede nachtrust. Onze buren zijn echt geweldig en er is voor ieder wat wils in het dorp. Bijvoorbeeld: buurtwinkel, volkstuinen, kerkkoffieochtenden, kinderdagverblijf, lagere school, een gemeenschapsgerichte pub met mooie bloemenpresentaties, tuinclub, knutselclub, tafeltennis, Pilates, kanaalwandelingen, om er maar een paar te noemen. We hebben ook een prachtig speelpark en geweldige wandel- en fietspaden. Het paviljoen neemt deel aan Open Studio-dagen voor kunstliefhebbers en er zijn veel geweldige kunstenaars in het dorp. Kerstmis is magisch - de kerk is versierd met groen en kaarslicht en ziet er prachtig uit, kerstliederen zingen door het dorp worden begeleid door de kerstman op zijn arrenslee.
