Pedrógão Pequeno (formerly Pedrógam Pequeno) is a Portuguese parish and village in the municipality of Sertã, with an area of 42.75 km² and 706 inhabitants (2012 census). Its population density is 16.5 inhabitants/km².It belongs to the Schist Villages network.History
Pedrógão Pequeno was founded by the Roman consul Aulus Curcio in 150 BC. It was conquered by the Moors on August 4, 718 and reconquered by King Afonso II on March 13, 1216.The village belonged to the Order of the Temple and, first of all, the term of Sertã, it was donated to the Order of the Hospital, along with it in 1174 by D. Afonso Henriques. In 1419 it was still from the border of Sertã, but it did not take long to achieve a relative autonomy, which at that time was granted to all the small villages of the country.The Prior of Crato, D. Vasco de Ataíde, with a view to benefiting a protégé of the monarch more than to execute an act of administration of real interest to his Order, gave in 1448 Pedrógão Pequeno de emprazamento, with all the civil and criminal jurisdiction, rents and jurisdictions, to Diogo da Silveira, private clerk and advisor to King D. Afonso V, which elevated it to the category of a village.The municipality was made up of the parishes of Carvalhal and Pedrógão Pequeno. It was suppressed in 1834. Pedrógão Pequeno a été fondée par le consul romain Aulus Curcio en 150 av. J.-C. Elle fut conquise par les Maures le 4 août 718 et reconquise par le roi Alphonse II le 13 mars 1216.Le village appartenait à lOrdre du Temple et, tout dabord, le terme de Sertã, il a été donné à lOrdre de lHôpital, en même temps que lui en 1174 par D. Afonso Henriques. En 1419, il était encore à la frontière de Sertã, mais il na pas fallu longtemps pour obtenir une autonomie relative, qui à lépoque a été accordée à tous les petits villages du pays.Le prieur de Crato, D. Vasco de Ataíde, dans le but davantager un protégé du monarque plus que dexécuter un acte dadministration dun intérêt réel pour son Ordre, donna en 1448 Pedrógão Pequeno de emprazamento, avec toute la juridiction civile et criminelle, les rentes et les juridictions, à Diogo da Silveira, clerc particulier et conseiller du roi D. Afonso V, ce qui la élevé au rang de village.La municipalité était composée des paroisses de Carvalhal et Pedrógão Pequeno. Elle fut supprimée en 1834. Terreno rústico de 18000m2 com cultura de milho e arvense (pinheiro e oliveira).
Terreno com mina de água, com confrontação de ribeira, tem edificado um moínho de água e uma casa de apoio. Terreno fértil abundante em água e optimo para cultivo.

Em 1419 sendo ainda do termo da Sertã, mas não tardou em alcançar uma relativa autonomia, que nessa época se concedia a todas as pequenas vilas do país.O Prior do Crato, D. Vasco de Ataíde, tendo mais em vista beneficiar um protegido do monarca que executar um acto de administração de real interesse para a sua Ordem, deu em 1448 Pedrógão Pequeno de emprazamento, com toda a jurisdição civil e criminal, rendas e foros, a Diogo da Silveira, escrivão particular e conselheiro d'El - Rei D. Afonso V, que o elevou à categoria de vila.O concelho era constituído pelas freguesias de Carvalhal e Pedrógão Pequeno. Foi suprimido em 1834.
